The only piece of Orioles memorabilia you are missing is a Baltimore Orioles watch
A sports memorabilia collector is only as good as his sports memorabilia collection. If a collector is serious about his hobby, he collects as many items as he can. To truly be proud of a collection, it has to be the best assemblage of related material that one can reasonably acquire. You are no different.
Your collection is mostly baseball related memorabilia. You have dedicated the entire basement of your home to your collection. Every square inch is covered with baseball related memorabilia and collectables on display. Since you are form Baltimore, your focus has been on Baltimore sports. All of the teams, past and current are here. The basement is divided into sections, with each section devoted to a particular sport.
One section is all about football. Your collection goes back to the old Baltimore Colts. In one spot is your football signed by Ted Marchibroda. You have a football cap signed by Don Shula. The newspaper clipping from the 1958 championship game between the Colts and Giants, called “the greatest game ever played”. And of course the signed Johnny Unitas jersey. Then there is the memorabilia from the Baltimore Ravens. No Ravens collection is complete without a signed Ray Lewis jersey. You also have a few signed footballs.
Your baseball section is obviously dominated by the Baltimore Orioles. Since baseball is your favorite sport, your Orioles collection is significantly larger than your Colts and Ravens collection. Your collection starts with a miniature replica of Camden Yards. Surrounding it are your autographed baseballs. Not many people can say that they have baseballs signed by Brooks Robinson, Jim Palmer and Earl Weaver. There’s an autographed frank Robinson baseball bat. And the great Cal Ripken Jr. has to be represented. You have an autographed jersey and videotapes of the games leading up to Ripken breaking Lou Gehrig’s streak. But it seems like you could still add something else to your collection of Baltimore Orioles baseballs, cards, caps, bats and jerseys. And you are right. There is something else that you can add to the collection. That is a Baltimore Orioles watch. You can’t believe that you didn’t think of that. You already wear a Baltimore Orioles watch yourself. You’ve had the MVP series Baltimore Orioles watch for a few years and you love it. Why not add some Baltimore Orioles watches to your memorabilia collection? You could get the classic looking retro series Baltimore Orioles watch. It would look great next to some of those old newspaper clippings. The veteran series Baltimore Orioles watch would look good there too. You could put the more modern looking rookie series Baltimore Orioles watch near that Adam Jones autographed baseball. Those Baltimore Orioles watches would add an extra detail to your collection.
Each memorabilia collection is different in its own way. It is a product of its creator. Most collectors wouldn’t think of adding Baltimore Orioles watches to their collection. They might just be happy wearing a Baltimore Orioles watch. But collecting Baltimore Orioles watches is a great way to expand into a different item. Your goal is to create a unique collection. Why not buy something that most other collections don’t have?
