Eventually Manning would do the same thing that Unitas did and leave the team to finish his career elsewhere. The Manning era was over but the future did not look as bad as it could have.
Andrew Luck arrived almost the same way that Peyton Manning did amid a set of wholesale changes for the Indianapolis Colts. Just as Manning came with a new general manager and a new head coach, Luck would do the same. And along with Manning, he would have the fate of the franchise on his shoulders. It’s too early to tell if Luck will be like Unitas and Manning before him. But all of the signs of greatness are there. It may only be a matter of time before another title comes to the Colts.
